Arthur Changed His Stories

In the grand jury, Arthur testified that the oral sex took place at a public pool. At trial, he said it happened in Nickel’s bedroom. The reverse is true for the ‘finger’ charge: In both Investigator Bates’s contemporaneous notes of the first interview with Arthur as well as Investigator DeFrancesco’s deposition based on that interview, it is clear that the boy initially claimed that it happened in Nickel’s bedroom; but at trial, he testified that it happened at the pool.

Perversion of Justice

Is deliberately finding someone guilty of things he did not do ever justified? If we convict people for acts of child sexual abuse that never happened, does that somehow 'make up' for all the past abuse that went completely unpunished? Is it okay to pervert justice in order to punish people wrongly perceived as perverts?
